Hi, We recently purchased a home and are renovating. We removed a door frame and found your name stamped on the lumber. House was built in 1959/1960. House is solid brick and stone...bones are good, just needs to be updated). We are using almost all the original (your) lumber (stripping and sealing to original). If you are like me, building stairs is a tedious and sometimes stressful job. Well, with the RetroTread® that is history. I was not looking forward to re-treading a basement staircase in my newly constructed home and had been delaying it. When I found the RetroTread® at the local Lowes (right next to the dreaded standard stair treads), I immediately took one home to get a feel for how it works. I used the oak tread with a cherry stain to match the floors. Two tubes of adhesive and 12 treads later, I was done. The wood took the stain perfectly.

These treads are actually awesome. Very rich looking.
